State secretary Dan Neculaescu has political consultations with Chisinau officials

State secretary for the liaisons with Eastern neighbourhood and multilateral relations at global level, Dan Neculaescu had on Thursday in Chisinau bilateral political consultations with the Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Government of the Republic of Moldova, Lilian Darii and Daniela Morari, respectfully, as well as a meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Gheorghe Balan.

During the meetings with the officials of the Foreign Affairs Ministry and the European Integration Ministry, the secretary of state Dan Neculaescu noted the progress recorded by the Rep. of Moldova's authorities in reforms, evoking the importance to maintain the commitment and a ceaseless pace in implementing them, predominantly in the fields with a direct impact upon the improvement of the citizens' lives, a release by the Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE) informs.

At the same time, the Romanian official emphasised that Romania will further grant the necessary support to Moldova in the implementation of the EU Association Agreement and that the positive outcome recorded so far must be strengthened through an additional substantial effort. The sides have agreed upon improving coordination in backing the efforts of the Rep. of Moldova to attain the European agenda's objectives, through the Intergovernmental Joint Committee for European Integration included.

Likewise, the bilateral actions scheduled for the next period were reviewed, being also assessed the stage of the cooperation projects in various activity fields, such as the one of assistance for development.

The two parties have also approached aspects linked to the preparation of the Eastern Partnership Summit due this year, alongside the latest regional evolutions.

During the meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration of the Government of Moldova, the Romanian secretary of state underlined that the '5+2' negotiation format stays the framework within a sustainable political solution to the Transnistrean file could be identified, with observance of the Rep. of Moldova's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

MAE adds that Dan Neculaescu noted the active attitude and involvement of the Chisinau authorities in the good running of the talks in the '5+2' format which has significantly contributed to a positive dynamics.
